A Lumberjack for Alan

Made this handsome fellow as a Valentines gift to Mr. Alan complete with a heart shaped log. A little random maybe… but lumberjacks are the new pirates and the fabric was calling to me in the store. A note on the back (in a cheesy wood font of course) says “I love you more than a stack of flapjacks. Wood you be mine?”

Soko

I want this girl to be my new bff… except I don’t think I’m cool enough and I’m not a very good friend. Anyway, she’s my new favorite thing to listen to… although everyone else has maybe already heard of her. Like I said I’m not that cool.  But Soko, if you want to be my bff I swear I’ll return your calls… and umm please don’t quit like you said you were on your myspace page because you’re way too good.

You Deserve a Badge for Your Merit

I’ve always had somewhat of an unhealthy obsession with girlscout uniforms.  Thanks to Lee Meszaros of  the etsy shop Leemeszaros I can finally earn badges again. They are all lovingly hand silk-screened, painted, and embroidered. These badges are also easily attainable unlike those pesky girl scout ones. So… I just blew all my money on an Epson film scanner and I’ve never been happier! Now I can take wonderfully blurry, grainy pictures all I want and no one can stop me. Here is a shmorgusboard of photos from my beloved Holga… I couldn’t choose.

Christmas Crafts

It’s that time of year again… time for Christmas crafts! My etsy shop has been keeping me busy this year. I’ve been making quite a few mushroom Christmas ornaments. Also, I made this nifty tree skirt for myself by sewing some yarn script onto a felt circle. who wants a boring old red and green tree skirt anyway right? … or a green tree.

Wiener Love

Oh yes, I certainly have lotsa love for wiener dogs… especially ones in sweaters. My fellow wiener dog loving friend Leizel agrees. That’s why I made this set of prints for her housewarming. The dogs have a woodgrain texture (if you haven’t noticed yet… I’m a sucker for woodgrain, I just can’t help it).

Sleeepytreee

Made a painting the other day of a lovely sleepy tree (having good dreams of course). I used acrylic paint on cardboard to make the sky and outline of the tree. The tree itself is the cardboard showing through. Tissue paper makes the leaves, and a constrction paper smile. I’m pretty happy with how it came out. Simple and cheerful.
